My name is Jenny, I am the mother of two beautiful children, Alyssa and Hector. Alyssa is 11 years old and Autistic, Hector is 5.
Alyssa is a happy girls. She enjoys shopping and painting her nails. She attends an SCD-SH class at a public school and is mainstreamed 3X p/wk. She is looking forward to attending junior high next year.
Hector is your typical boy. Loves star wars, video games, playing with toy soldiers. He understands and loves his sister.
Our journey through Autism has been a difficult one but I have lot of support from friends and family. Together we hope to heal my daughter's Autism and raise awareness.

As we all probably know April is AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH. Every year I take on a "project" to help raise Autism Awareness in our community. Last year my friends and family decided to participate in Autism Speak's Walk for Autism. As part of our fund raising attempts we had a booth at our local Childrens Fair which takes place in Apirl and is attended by thousands. Children decorated foam puzzle pieces with a magnet attached and my mom painted nails, Ally's favorite pasttime. It was a great success. People were coming to our booth asking questions and wanting more information. I've posted pics of our booth. The puzzle pieces on the table were decorated by Alyssa's class. I look forward to this years "project", any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
