Hi my name is Sonya. I have a wonderful husband who works his butt off so I can stay home with the kids Bryan 15, nt and Seoc 4, special needs. Seoc (pronounced Shock, it is Gaelic for Jack, it means God is Gracious) has numerous diagnosis but Autism is the one we struggle with daily. He has the biggest smile and best laugh I have ever heard. He is high functioning and has hyperlexia. He keeps life very interesting to say the least.

I use to think it was cruel to put a child on a "leash" until I had a child with Autism, now I totally understand the need for a "harness". I use to criticize my sister's house cleaning skills until I became a stay at home mom. Now I understand it is much harder to keep your home clean when people are messing it up all day long. I use to think being a stay at home mom was a piece of cake, but now I know better. I use to think I had it all together, but now I know I don't. I use to take things for granted, but now I see the beauty in the little things. I use to stress out over a messy house, but now I care more about spending time with my children. I use trust Doctors, but now I only trust my instincts. I use to not worry about the future, now I worry about it each and every day. I could go on and on, LOL.

well you don't have a money pay check but your pay is your beautifuol children and the memories that are worth more than gold! I can look back now that my kids are 22 and 25 and I wish so much that I sould go back for just one day and TRULY appreciate how easy life was and how much fun it was with two preschool age kids! It was a magicial time and most of the time I was wishing they would just hurry up and grow up!

Addition; I use to be underweight, but now I am overweight. I use to have friends, but now I have aquaintances. I use to be a dental assistant making a nice paycheck, but now I am full time mom and have no paycheck. I use to have alone time, went out with the girls and did things (when my oldest stayed with his dad), now I have no time for myself. I use to be a single mom, but now I am a married mom with two children. I wouldn't trade it for the world but sometimes I just need a vacation from myself. Hey a girl can dream can't she?
