Hi my name is Sonya. I have a wonderful husband who works his butt off so I can stay home with the kids Bryan 15, nt and Seoc 4, special needs. Seoc (pronounced Shock, it is Gaelic for Jack, it means God is Gracious) has numerous diagnosis but Autism is the one we struggle with daily. He has the biggest smile and best laugh I have ever heard. He is high functioning and has hyperlexia. He keeps life very interesting to say the least.

Yesterday we were outside playing and Seoc started saying "Eggs where are you?" On easter he really wasn't into the egg finding thing but yesterday he was ready to find some Easter eggs, LOL. It made me want to go grab them and hide them but I think he would have been disappointed if there was nothing in them. He really amazes me the things he remembers.

Awww! My daughter said something the other day from last summer when she wasn't even two yet. She must be like me. I don't forget most things either. I think my son is too but he cannot express things verbally.

You should get some eggs to hide for him! It isn't just for Easter-haha! That is really cute... Kristin

I'm glad he can do so much, and remember so much. He probably just needed to warm up to the idea of Easter eggs... He might remember next year by himself, but to be sure, you might want to start talking about Easter eggs the night before, or whenever you think it'll be best for him to hear about it. He's a cutie!

He is extremely bright. He does not forget anything (which at times can be a bad thing because everything has to stay exactly the same). He has problems communicating it but I know what he is saying. Mentally he is way above his age group, developmentally he is way behind. Sometimes I swear he is a savant. He can count over 100, he knows the alphabet forward and backward, he knows the days of the week, the months of the year, shapes and colors, he sounds out words and reads words. He stims writing letters and numbers in the air or anything he can use to make letters or numbers. The hyperlexia has a good deal to do with that, it is a blessing. He never ceases to amaze me.
